VISION
A body of believers, bound together by our love for Jesus Christ and his Word, reflecting God’s love, grace, and truth.
Our Vision reflects a functioning church body tightly bound together above all by God, through Jesus Christ, and his Holy Spirit. This bond of love and joy strengthens our church family of strong relationships without partiality. It speaks to a shared desire to edify one another and God’s desire for grace and truth in the church. This is the vision we wish to show all nations and our bond of love motivates everything we do individually and together.
PURPOSE
To glorify God by loving as Jesus loves.
As a church body called together to reflect God’s love, grace and truth we want to honor God by loving all people as Jesus loves all people. This should generate a life of glory to God and good works towards everyone, friend and enemy alike. To do so generates the desire and the ability to share the gospel with all people and to live obedient lives. Loving him means we will fulfill the Great Commission given to his followers and keep his commandments in honor of his love towards us.
MISSION
We summerize our purpose by saying our church has a four-pillar mission:

To present to the lost the gospel message of salvation based on faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ and a true repentance and conversion. 1

To teach and nurture the believers toward a sanctified life and to faithfulness by God's grace and through His Word. 2

To preserve sound doctrine by "contending for the faith."

J. Laverne
TYSON
Pastor Tyson resides with his wife Linda, in Warren, Ohio. We are the proud parents of three grown children: Marlon, Troy, and Erica. We also have one granddaughter, Nila. J. Laverne Tyson, known around the world as "The Flying Preacher" for both his piloting skills as well as his sky-is-the-limit personality, was born into the home of Pastor James E. and Evelyn Haynesworth Tyson. J. Laverne, or "Vernie" as he was known, grew up in a prayer-filled, God-fearing home in Youngstown, Ohio.
Coming from an enormously talented, anointed family, Vernie was always known as "The Dreamer" for the ambitious and sometimes grandiose visions and goals that he harbored. Passing on West Point, Tyson decided instead to study at the feet of his father, and learn how to pastor a church first-hand. Since 1978, Tyson has built two dynamic ministries: the Apostolic Faith Church in Warren, Ohio, and New Beginning Ministries.
In 2010, he followed the leading of the Holy Spirit to merge New Beginning Ministries and Christ Church Apostolic, and he served as pastor from 2008 to 2012. In November of 2012, he and his wife, Linda S. Tyson, retired to devote their efforts full time to "pastoring pastors!"
Through their tireless commitment to carrying out the will of God, this power couple has led many souls to God, and has touched countless more lives with their extensive community work. Never the relaxing type, Tyson has been ministering through the written word for over 30 years. The author of six books and innumerable articles, he is frequently sought out as an authority on the history of Pentecostalism.
Linda
TYSON
As a teenager, Linda began to embrace and utilize her gift of teaching, especially with youth. With an education from Moody Bible College, Kent State University and Aenon Bible College, she has been able to further develop this gift along with her anointed counseling skills. Linda is in constant demand as a teacher and counselor/advisor to husbands and wives in ministry.
For five years, she and her husband hosted their own long-running television program, "The Power of the Sword." They have also been privileged to host Trinity Broadcast Network's nationally syndicated program "Praise the Lord," on numerous occasions. She frequently speaks to ministry groups, sharing everyday experiences with a balanced application of scriptures to the challenges of life. The hallmarks of her calling are encouraging God's people to recognize that the Scriptures were given to us to encourage us to live holy, practical lives that honor God.
J. Laverne and Linda Tyson are committed to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world. Their ultimate goal is to encourage God's People and help save the lost. Pray for them that God will use them to impact the nations!
